Engineering Software
An intelligent suite of offshore analysis programs
FISIS
Structural Solver
Fisis is a beam analysis finite element program for static and dynamic structural analyses of 3D structures.
Key benefits include:
- 10x faster than the industry benchmark
- Static linear and large deflection analysis
- Time domain dynamic analysis
- Eigenvalue modes and buckling analyses
- Pile-soil interaction PISA-type springs and time-domain analysis
- Foundation design of monopiles and jackets
THALASSA
Environmental Loading
Thalassa is an environmental analysis and load calculation program.
Key benefits include:
- 50x faster for irregular wave analysis, 10x faster for all other analyses
- Regular wave theory kinematics
- Irregular wave analysis
- Current velocity profile and wave stretching
- Wind speed profile
- Accurate beam segmentation
KETO
Spectral Decomposition
Keto breaks down a defined spectrum to enable frequency and time domain analyses.
Typically this is used for:
- Random wave simulations
- JONSWAP and Pierson Moskowitz spectra
- Variable wind loading
- Seismic loading
AUTOMATON
Model Building Interface
Finite element models are built using powerful commands in C# syntax.
What this means is:
- Fewer lines to build a model
- Input guidance using Microsoft’s Intellisense
- Fast modelling with loops
- Conditional modelling with If statements
- Structured scripts which are easy to check
- Live error and warning trackers
- Automaton’s side panel visualises the beams defined in your code and reacts to any changes.
Run your model from Automaton to automatically call Fisis, Thalassa, Keto and Post.
POST
Post-Processing Results
Print out the right level of outputs in a structured text output.
Notable outputs include:
- Static nodal displacements, reactions, internal member loads, Eigenvalues
- Time-domain displacement and accelerations
- Beam utilisation checks (UCs)
- Environment particle kinematics
- Model mass and FEA matrices
- Fatigue damage and hot spot results
- Spectral decomposition results
Plot results through Post based on Gnuplot functions. This gives maximum flexibility to visualise large data sets such as 3-hour random wave simulations.

NEPHOS
Jack-Up Analysis
Run elevated jack-up vessel assessments with unprecedented speed. Nephos delivers Site-Specific Assessments (SSAs) for individual sites, offshore wind farms and jack-up design purposes.
Key benefits include:
- SSA at each and every location, that means no soil categorisation
- Geotechnical analysis based on soil layer inputs
- Preload optimisation at each location, saving hours in offshore preload time
- Results of structural and foundation capacity according to ISO, SNAME and DNV-GL codes
- Clean automated reporting at consultancy-level quality
- Online browser interface for individual locations explaining all inputs required
